Curl up on the couch and enjoy a cozy night in! Before you make this cocktail, you’ll need to spend a little time making a deliciously autumnal syrup.
SYRUP INGREDIENTS
1 cup brown sugar
3 cinnamon quills
2 Tbsp orange zest
1 Tbsp lemon zest
2 slices of fresh ginger
SYRUP METHOD
Combine 1.5 cups of water with brown sugar, cinnamon quills, orange zest, lemon zest and ginger. Slowly bring to the boil, stirring often. Allow to boil for a few minutes until it starts to thicken and reduce heat. Allow to simmer for approx. 10mins until reduced down. For the adventurous ones try adding 1-2 cardamon pods for an added kick! Allow to cool completely before use and store in the fridge for up to three weeks.
COCKTAIL METHOD
Combine all ingredients and top with hot water (about half a cup and not boiling).
Garnish with fresh orange twists and a stick of cinnamon.
You can add honey to taste.
